Expect the unexpected...

We had absolutely no idea what to expect in Albuquerque... sure, numerous friends and strangers had mentioned that ABQ was all that and a bag of chips... and sure, it was named the second best place to live in the United States for 2009... but really?!? REALLY!!!

So, this is the view from pretty much anywhere in the city... if you look to the East, this is what you see!

Did God dig these grooves by hand?!?

The cool thing about Albuqueruqe, is that it was 60 degrees in the city and sunny... we took a drive up into the mountains and found it to be 32 degrees at the top with snow!!! How awesome! I told the boys that we could take a thirty minute drive to build snowmen... and then head home and warm up! Incredible!

By the time we started down, it was dusk. This was what we got to look at while we snaked our way back down... oh, and we also got to see a wolf or a coyote run across the rode...

It's crazy to think that in a couple short weeks we will be calling this place home... it feels and looks like an old Western movie...

P.S. No more telling the boys to 'Stop acting like little Indians'... no matter that they are and that there is some family truth to the 'acting like Indians' statement... people here will not understand!
P.S.S. Probably shouldn't wear my Border Patrol t-shirt... it might draw unwanted attention...
